Auditing the Master Course – Spring Semester : CE221 – Nonlinear Structural Analysis taught by Prof. F.C.Filippou. Implementation of the Constitutive Model for FRP and Tie Confined Concrete developed in the first year of research at Roma Tre in the “MatLab Finite Elements for Design Evaluation and Analysis of Structures” (FEDEAS Lab) developed by Professor F.C.Filippou. Numerical Modeling of FRP Retrofitted Circular Bridge Piers under cyclic loading and comparison with experimental results published in the literature. Technical Report containing all the necessary results regarding the research evolved.

By the time his military service was finished, he had the opportunity to enter again the research program of EN-CORE by signing a collaboration contract for five months with Sapienza University of Rome under the supervision of Professor Giorgio Monti. Since EN-CORE was at that time ending (December 2008) the research was concentrated on summarizing the results of all previous studies and preparing a report on the topic of Confinement of Reinforced Concrete Sections with FRP Jacketing.

His degree thesis with topic «Bond between Near-Surface Mounted Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Rods and Concrete in Structural Strengthening» was an experimental thesis and it was entrusted to him by the Professor S. J. Pantazopoulou of the Laboratory of Reinforced Concrete of Democritus University of Thrace. The preparation of the thesis included voluntary work at the laboratory of reinforced concrete of the university for nine months for the preparation and testing of the necessary specimens (2004-2005).

During the first year of his contract at the University of Rome “Roma Tre”, he was living at the town of L’Aquila of the region Abruzzo of Italy. Therefore, he lived from very close the misfortune of the earthquake of L’Aquila in April 6th 2009. However, except for being earthquake-striken, he had also the opportunity to represent the University of Rome “Roma Tre” in the mixed teams (Structural Engineers, Architects of the Ministry of Culture, Firemen-Engineers and Historians of Art) for the impress of the earthquake damage at the historical center of L’Aquila for two weeks.
